Framlo ("the app") is a photo and design editor made by the Framlo team ("I", "me"). This page explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your photos and designs stay on your phone, I do not collect personal data, and there are no accounts, ads or tracking.
What stays on your phone
Everything you make or choose in the app is stored only on your device: your designs and projects, the photos and videos you use, voiceovers you record, stickers you make from your photos, your favorites, the pictures you like, save to boards or upload in the Gallery, your Brand Kit (colours, logos and fonts), your saved filters, looks and templates, your progress in the Learn checklist, and your settings. I cannot see any of it. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it. In Settings you can also choose "Delete all my data" to remove it at any time, including the Clean up model described below.
Photos and editing
The app asks for access to your photo library so you can choose photos for your designs, and so it can save finished designs to your Photos. All editing happens on your device and your photos are never uploaded. This includes:
- Filters, colour washes, adjustments, Film look, textures, cropping, shapes, rotating, opacity, blending and masks.
- Remove background, Text behind person and making stickers, which find the person or object in a photo using Apple's on-device technology.
- Retouch, which changes your photo on your device.
- Clean up, which removes objects using an AI model that runs on your device (see the next section). Your photo and your brush marks are not sent anywhere.
- Print-ready PDFs, which are created on your device.
While you edit, the app may keep temporary working copies of a photo in the app's private storage on your phone. They stay on the device and are cleared by the system or when you delete the app.
Videos and voiceovers
You can use videos from your photo library in a design, and record a voiceover for a video. The app asks for microphone access only when you record a voiceover, and you can turn it off at any time in your iPhone's Settings. Videos and recordings are edited and saved on your device and are never uploaded. A voiceover is stored with your project on your phone and is deleted with it.
The Clean up model (one-time download)
Clean up uses an open-source AI model called LaMa (Apache License 2.0). It is not built into the app. The first time you use Clean up, the app downloads the model (about 215 MB) from Hugging Face (huggingface.co) and stores it on your phone. After that, Clean up works offline.
- The download is a plain file request. The app sends no personal information and none of your photos. Like any internet request, Hugging Face and your internet provider can see technical details such as your IP address. I do not use this to identify you.
- Downloading over mobile data may use your data allowance, so Wi-Fi is recommended.
- You can remove the model at any time with "Delete all my data" in Settings.
Files you share and import
You can share a template, a look or a filter as a file, and import files that other people send you. Sharing uses the system share sheet, so you choose where the file goes. Importing uses the Files picker, and only the file you pick is opened. Imported files are stored on your device like your own work. I do not see what you share or import.
Content the app downloads
The app downloads new templates, stickers, frames, textures, Gallery pictures and lists from a server so they can be added without an app update. This is one-way: the app asks for files and sends no personal information. Like any internet request, the hosting service (Supabase) can see technical details such as your IP address in its server logs. I do not use this to identify you.
Purchases
If you buy Framlo Pro (weekly or yearly) or a template, the purchase is handled by Apple. I use RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) to check what you have bought and to restore purchases. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier for your installation and your purchase information. I do not receive your name, payment details or Apple ID. See Apple's and RevenueCat's privacy policies for how they handle this data. Purchase records are kept by Apple and RevenueCat under their own policies. If you would like the purchase data RevenueCat holds about your installation to be deleted, write to hello@framlo.app and I will pass the request on.
What I do not do
- There are no accounts or logins.
- There is no advertising and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- I do not sell or share your data.
- There are no analytics tools in the app.
- Your photos, videos, recordings and designs are never uploaded to me or to any AI service.
Sharing you choose
When you save, share or post a design (for example to Instagram or with the share sheet), you choose where it goes. That service's own privacy policy applies after that.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. The app was previously called Honey Letter.
